Most of the products are gluten free.
Some history behind the Morphys Provisions range. Ian worked as a Hotel and Restaurant Inspector for the U.K. Michelin Guide back in the eighties. For nearly 28 years Ian and his wife, Jenny, owned and operated the Maitland restaurant, The Old George & Dragon. In that 28 years Ians reputation as a fine chef lead to much recognition from his piers :– Recipient of Restaurant & Caterers Association awards including the Hall of Fame in 2006. Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guides ‘ Professional Excellence Award’ in 2007. Also awarded SMH ‘Chefs Hat’ awards over the many years.
The line of condiments started in 1994 (chiefly as jams and marmalades for the Old George and Dragon Guesthouse customers to enjoy at breakfast.) Ian’s chutneys evolved from some of his famous dishes that appeared on his restaurants menus. The range has grown since then – The Morphys retired from the restaurant in 2009.
