We answer some of the common questions we get asked

What is the minimum number of people you will pick up?

There is no minimum restriction to book so singles and couples can book tours, but there is a minimum number of people needed to run tours effectively.

We do our best to make sure every tour runs, which sometimes means shuffling minimum numbers together so tours can operate.

We need to group together at least  4 people (minimum number shown on each tour) for it to operate.

Do you take parties like a 40th or 50th?

Yes. A day tour with your friends enjoying drinks and tasty food is one of the most enjoyable but hassle free ways to celebrate a birthday. We take care of the details and let us know if you would like something extra special too!

What size groups can you cater too?

Each tour vehicle contains passengers from multiple bookings until it is filled to the ‘maximum guest limit’ (shown on each tour). This limit keeps our group small so it’s fast and fun with premium access.

A tour will operate when a minimum of four seats are booked. If there are only four seats booked, great you will have the tour all to yourselves in one of our smaller vehicles. The more a tour fills up, the bigger the vehicle we use until our maximum guest limit for that tour is reached.

If you would like a completely private tour for two, or, have a larger group than the ‘maximum guest limit’ please contact us for options.

We can cater to larger groups by combining multiple vehicles for any tour.

How do your vehicles differ from other tours?

Our modern luxury vehicles are spacious and comfortably seat up to 14 guests. This allows for an easy and fun interaction within a small group setting (unavailable in smaller sedans, limos or bikes) and access to boutique locations. Many other bigger bus tours get limited access to the more public tasting areas, with tasting queue delays, slow transitions and too many individual schedules.

Which accommodations do you pick up from?

Any accommodation, (commercial or residential) within our transfer locations. Please reference our ‘Transfer Locations’ for eligible accommodation locations and any associated fees.

What are your pickup locations?

We offer pickup and drop-off at your accommodations front door. Please reference our ‘Transfer Locations’ for eligible accommodation locations and any associated fees.
We do not offer transfers to Sydney.

Do you have free parking?

Yes we have free parking at our Two Fat Blokes Kitchen and Deli. Stop in for a bite to eat, pickup some local produce for your picnic lunch, or shop for a tasty gift. Tour customers are also able to leave their cars here for free to start/end their tour from the Two Fat Blokes Kitchen.

Can you pick me up from Sydney?

No, we do not offer transfers to Sydney.
However Sydney customers can book a Two Fat Blokes pick-up/drop-off to ‘Maitland’ and catch the train between ‘Sydney-Newcastle-Maitland’, (see ‘Transfer Locations’)

What do I wear?

Dress comfortably for the season you are visiting. There is no dress code but please respect the establishments you are visiting and dress appropriately as you would in any other licensed club or venue… and leave the ACDC sleeveless T at home!

How will I get my wine home?

We will store your wine for you safely in the bus and then return it to you when we drop you off at your accommodation. Most wineries will also ship your wine for you direct from their cellar door if you need to.

Can I bring my child?

No. Your child would be confused by a group of tipsy adults singing, “Come on Eileen” when they really don’t know the words. Fun, yes, but not pretty… Seriously, while some cellar doors may accommodate children, most often they don’t have the facilities for Under 18’s. Please give us a call if that is an issue for you.

How do you determine which wineries are best for my group?

Because we know the area so well and try to deliver the best experiences based on:
– Rave reviews from previous tour groups
– Boutique, non-touristy locations
– Excellent wines, moderately priced
– Warm & friendly service
– Perks available (cellar tours, barrel-tasting, wine-maker available, etc.)

Which wineries do we visit?

There is no set schedule of wineries. Our tour guides will take advantage of the best winery experiences available on that day, including special events, to make sure you get the most value from your itinerary, have an enjoyable day and maximise your taste time of the Hunter Valley.

What type of lunch is included with the tours?

All our included tour lunches are of the highest quality and really satisfy our customers:
– Hunter Gatherers Tour includes a generous antipasto lunch amongst the vines.
– Progressive Winemakers Tour includes a 9 course degustation lunch matched with wine from the regions best chefs.
– Food & Wine Lovers Tour includes a scrumptious lunch at restaurant/delicatessen including wine/beer and afternoon tea/coffee.

How about driver gratuity?

It is not required, but if you are pleased with the service and effort put forth by your tour guide/driver, you are most welcome to offer him or her a gratuity. Your thoughtfulness will be greatly appreciated.

Can I change or cancel my booking?

Yes, you can cancel but please be advised of the following conditions.

  • Cancellation for Bookings (Under 10 People)
  • Every cancellation attracts a $25 fee per booking to cover administration expenses.
  • Cancellation up to 72 hrs is $25pp, within 48 hrs is 50% of the total paid, within 24hrs no refund.
  • Cancellation for Group Bookings (10+ People)
  • Free Cancellation until 30 days before the event date.
  • No refund within 30 days of the event.

What are your BBQ Packs and Picnic Packs?

Our take away packs are perfect for families, or romantics, who want to enjoy eating outdoors surrounded by the vineyards. Our complete packs include picnic baskets with blanket filled with your goodies. Grab a premade pack or customise your own.

Do you have takeaway options from your kitchen?

Yes, in our delicatessen we offer take away, food and drinks. Be a romantic and quickly pickup a lunch pack (including picnic baskets with blanket filled with your goodies) and BBQ packs. Or, select from our big authentic range a fresh smallgoods including cheeses, prosciutto, salamis, antipasto platters, kransky sausages, smoked trout, fresh pasta & pasta sauces, bakery and more.

SYDNEY DIRECT TRANSFERS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. Sydney customers can book a Two Fat Blokes pick-up/drop-off at ‘Mailtland’ and catch the train between ‘Sydney to Newcastle’ then ‘Newcastle to Maitland’.
