Half Day ‘Snapshot’ – Half Day Tour

I would recommend this tour to everyone. Mum and I chose the half day tour which took us to 3 beautiful winery’s including cheese tasting, we enjoyed every second of it and had just the right amount of time at each place. Would definitely take another tour with them the next time I visit Hunter Valley!

The half day snapshot tour was great. Just the right amount of time to see and visit three lovely wineries. Robyn was an enthusiastic and enjoyable host. The van was a very comfortable Mercedes Benz with white leather seats and speakers to hear what Robyn had to say. The cheese and wine tasting at two fat blokes/de illuis winery was fabulous. Every cheese and wine was just delicious. We couldn’t help but buy quite a few things. Thanks again for a fun day.

Four of us attended the afternoon cheese & wine tour. We were picked up on time, proceeded to two other nearby locations to collect the other people on the tour (the vehicle holds 8 passengers). We then had a very pleasant 3 hours visiting 2 wineries and the Two Fat Blokes Kitchen. Our driver and guide, Brian, was friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. We tasted some great wines, ate some fantastic cheese, and learnt a bit as well. Highly recommended, and good value.

We used Two Fat Blokes for our Half Day Snapshot wine tour for our Work Christmas party. We had B-Ryan as our driver and he was excellent! Very well informed and funny. Would highly recommend them to anyone wishing to go on a wine tour in the Hunter valley!

We had a great afternoon with the Two Fat Blokes. It was unbelievably hot (49 degrees) but the guide Andrew was helpful and informative, the wineries terrific and we particularly loved the wine and cheese matching part of the afternoon. So much so that we came back the next day for lunch.

We did the Two Fat Blokes snapshot (half day) tour. I knew nothing about wine tasting coming into this tour, yet I was made very welcome and learned an incredible amount regarding both the production and taste of wine. Brian was an absolutely hilarious, wise, and friendly tour guide, and really went out of his way for us. For example, it was raining heavily when he came to pick us up, and although we had agreed to meet at the gate, he drove into the estate to pick us up in order to save us from getting drenched. My partner and I are considering coming back to do the full day tour! Fantastic time.

We did a 1/2day wine tour on a Saturday morning and it was fantastic. It ticked all the boxes. Lovely driver, small group, generous wine tastings with knowledgeable hosts at boutique wineries, great variety in terms of choice of vineyards and wines on offer and to top it all off the tour ended with a cheeseplate and matching wines – heaven!

I’ve done the Hunter several times; lots of cellar doors and many tours; but this is by far the best.
We chose the half day tour and were picked up by BJ from the front door of our hotel bang on time – he was super hospitable right from the start and had a great knack of learning everyone’s names and mini stories (where they were from, how long they’re in the Hunter for, what they do for work, etc) and then connecting the passengers together in common interests. This was way above and beyond what was expected and it was only the start.
He drove us to some fantastic cellar doors, providing THE most interesting commentary about the area – and throwing in some real personal stories (without a hint of arrogance) that gave us great insight into the industry that you wouldn’t gain on just a regular “business focused” tour. We all laughed the entire way along.
The cheese and wine pairing at the Two Fat Blokes HQ was a definite highlight and every single one of the 9 cheeses were out of this world (and I’m a total foodie and addicted to good cheeses).
BJ added even more value by showing us some astonishing lookouts (for jaw dropping photos) and gorgeous old houses and hotel grounds that you wouldn’t normally see (I’ve now pinpointed 2 more spots to stay next time thanks to BJ’s tips).
This tour is simply fantastic and I cannot wait to book the full day tour next time I’m there and will totally be asking for BJ as a driver again!

My friends and I went on the half day wine tour with Phil as our guide. What a great introduction to wine tasting! The wineries we visited highlighted the true feel of Pokolbin, and we got a wide variety of delicious wines. Followed by our last stop at the Fat Boys Kitchen where Phil ran a wine and cheese matching session. Delicious! Homemade marshmallows and many other yummy foods and goods could also be purchased.
Cannot wait for our next visit, so we can do it all again!

We booked an afternoon half day tour as we already had bookings for the morning. Our wonderful tour leader Julie was incredibly bright and bubbly, and was full of fantastic historical knowledge of the area. We visited 3 different wineries and finished off with a delicious cheese and wine tasting. Afterwards, Julie decided we hadn’t seen enough of the area and took us to a higher point where our group could enjoy a dusky view of the vineyards. All in all, it was fabulous afternoon and will definitely be booking a full day tour next time.

We took the four hour wine tour in the hunter with glen. Thanks for a great little tour great vineyards. Tour is long enough to get in enough wineries. Plenty of time at each vineyard to relax and enjoy wine tasting. Each vineyard had experts at hand who new their wines thoroughly. Great day thanks Glen.

We booked the Two Fat Blokes Half Day Snapshot tour as part of a weekend away in the Hunter Valley for our wedding anniversary and we had a wonderful time. Our guide Andrew was friendly and knowledgeable and the wineries he took us to had the most wonderful stories. The highlights were the wine & cheese experience and visiting Mistletoe Wines. We definitely recommend this tour and will be visiting again!

I took my father to the half day tour and it was incredible! BJ, out tour guide, knows so much about the history of hunter valley and the vineyards! The wine and cheese matching was exceptional and I can’t wait to do the full day tour!

My partner and I booked a half day tour as it was the first time going on a wine tour and didn’t know what to expect! We could not be happier with our choice and had an incredible experience! We are from Newcastle and spent the weekend in Pokolbin and it was well worth the drive! It was the most incredible scenery and had the best time! We would definitely recommend it for anyone!

Having never been to the Hunter Valley before, and only knowing so much about wine, a friend suggested that me and my family try a tour with the two flat blokes, and honestly, it was such a great suggestion! We did the half day wine tour, with BJ as our guide, who was really knowledgeable about the area and took us to the best spot to see some Kangaroos. It was a great day, we started at Waverley Estate, followed by the Fat blokes Kitchen, where we had the cheese and wine matching. BJ was really great at answering all the questions we had about the origin of the wines and the cheese selection. We ended at another vineyard for some more wine tasting, by this point we all thought we were experts! All in all, it was a fab day, and one that I would highly recommend.
