Spicers Guesthouse has a rich history in the heart of Australia’s oldest wine region, the Hunter Valley. This reborn Hunter Valley icon now invites you to celebrate your special day in relaxed luxury.

Spicers Guesthouse is a true wedding destination, nestled amongst the gum trees and grapevines. The property has recently reopened after extensive renovations that have breathed new life into this Hunter Valley classic.

The team at éRemo restaurant, led by acclaimed chef Cameron Matthews create dishes that are more of a dining experience than a wedding dinner, while our sommelier Cameron Brooksby perfectly matches wines to elevate the experience further.

EVENT SPACES

  • Private Dining Room features a wine wall for locals to house their favourite drop, a stone fireplace with seating up to 14 guests.
  • Lovedale Room is a light filled event space, suitable for wedding ceremonies or relaxed cocktail style events for up to 80 people. Adjacent is a covered entry pergola and lawn terrace ideal for pre-arrival gatherings.
  • Tallawanta room is a standalone building catering for up to 120 people. With bi-fold doors opening onto a veranda, the building also features a private functions bar and character-filled foyer space perfect for greeting guests.

Nestled amongst some of the oldest vineyards in Australia, Spicers Vineyards Estate is the ideal setting for a wedding that’s subtly elegant, easy on the palate and distinctively memorable.

Our five star retreat has 12 luxury suites each with its own fireplace plus a separate four bedroom house. Restaurant Botanica is renowned for its innovative and delicious cuisine and overlooks our private vineyard with over 500 vines. Modern Australian yet regionally distinctive, the Restaurant Botanica menu is seasonal and fresh – with much of our produce grown onsite and an award-winning wine list.

Space and nature are plentiful with our local family of kangaroos grazing morning and afternoon among the vines and the pool and jacuzzi are the perfect resting place during the warmer months.

EVENT SPACES

  • Restaurant Botanica – Spicers Vineyards Estate’s onsite, multi award-winning restaurant offers seated dining for up to
    80 people. With an expansive all weather veranda and the main dining room, the restaurant overlooks the private vineyard and the Brokenback mountain range.
  • The Harvest Room is an intimate private dining room located within the restaurant offering seated dining for up to 14 people.
  • The Guest Lounge is located in the main guesthouse building and central to your accommodation, the lounge offers seated dining for up to 24 guests.
  • OUTDOOR MARQUEE – Enjoy the beautiful setting in-between the restaurant and our private vineyard, hosting up to 120 in an outdoor marquee. (Marquee Hire & T&C’s apply).

Group Information

What is the minimum number of people you will pick up?

There is no minimum restriction to book so singles and couples can book tours, but there is a minimum number of people needed to run tours effectively.

We do our best to make sure every tour runs, which sometimes means shuffling minimum numbers together so tours can operate.

We need to group together at least  4 people (minimum number shown on each tour) for it to operate.

Do you take parties like a 40th or 50th?

Yes. A day tour with your friends enjoying drinks and tasty food is one of the most enjoyable but hassle free ways to celebrate a birthday. We take care of the details and let us know if you would like something extra special too!

What size groups can you cater too?

Each tour vehicle contains passengers from multiple bookings until it is filled to the ‘maximum guest limit’ (shown on each tour). This limit keeps our group small so it’s fast and fun with premium access.

A tour will operate when a minimum of four seats are booked. If there are only four seats booked, great you will have the tour all to yourselves in one of our smaller vehicles. The more a tour fills up, the bigger the vehicle we use until our maximum guest limit for that tour is reached.

If you would like a completely private tour for two, or, have a larger group than the ‘maximum guest limit’ please contact us for options.

We can cater to larger groups by combining multiple vehicles for any tour.

Sydney Transfers

  • SYDNEY direct transfers are not available.
  • To arrive from Sydney customers can catch the train between ‘Sydney-Newcastle-Maitland’ and request a Two Fat Blokes pick-up/drop-off at ‘Maitland’.

Transfer Fee Information

  • Flat rate is a single price for pick-up/drop-off at that location whether it’s two people or a full group of people.
  • Minimum 2 person pickup is required to operate the pickup service to fee based locations.
  • Fees are in addition to your tour booking and will be collected by your guide at time of pick-up. Please pay these fees by cash, ATM’s will be available on the tour.

Because we know the area so well and try to deliver the best experiences based on:
– Rave reviews from previous tour groups
– Boutique, non-touristy locations
– Excellent wines, moderately priced
– Warm & friendly service
– Perks available (cellar tours, barrel-tasting, wine-maker available, etc.)

Which wineries do we visit?

There is no set schedule of wineries. Our tour guides will take advantage of the best winery experiences available on that day, including special events, to make sure you get the most value from your itinerary, have an enjoyable day and maximise your taste time of the Hunter Valley.
